Sup,

So, after stompin’ a mud hole in BJ Penn at UFC 137, Nick Diaz re-earned his shot at Georges St. Pierre for the UFC Welterweight Title. (Thanks, Carlos Condit) The fight is scheduled for Super Bowl Weekend. The general consensus is that everyone hates Nick Diaz, loves Georges St. Pierre and would like nothing more than to see Georges pummel Nick for 5 rounds. So, I don’t care who you think will win the fight! Who do you want to win? Yes, this is a popularity poll, so vote as such!

Fox Bringin’ “Color” Back To TV

Saturday, October 29th, 2011

fox to revive in living color 2012Sup,

“In Living Color” was the greatest show on TV back in the 90′s, and I almost needed therapy when it went off air. “Lemme tell ya’ somethin’” and “Homey don’t play dat” came outta my mouth at least 10 times a day, while rockin’ the Cross Colours gear! Don’t get me wrong, I had sex with women on a regular basis. Anyway, Fox is bringing the “color” back to TV next year, and I couldn’t be more than ready.

CNN reports:

An updated version of the program will air as “two half-hour specials in the spring of 2012,” the network said in a statement. The exact dates of these shows have not been released.

Keenen Ivory Wayans, the original series’ creator and executive producer of the coming edition, will host the new episodes. Except for him, these shows will feature a new cast of “fresh, young talent,” according to Fox.

The show was a jumping-off point for several now mainstream performers like Jamie Foxx and Jim Carrey, as well as Jennifer Lopez and “Dancing With the Stars” judge Carrie Ann Inaba — who both were part of the “Fly Girls,” the show’s dance troupe. It also was a home base for several members of the Wayans family — Keenen, Damon, Kim, Marlon and Shawn.

Knew about Jennifer Lopez being a Fly Girl, but had no idea about Carrie Ann Inaba. She’s now relevant, and a little sexier, as far as I’m concerned. Good for her! All I need is a Cross Colours revival, and it’ll really be on!

Didn’t Know Monopoly Was That Serious

Friday, October 28th, 2011

woman stabs boyfriend monopolySup,

When i was a kid, I used to cry like a sucka when I lost at Monopoly! You woulda thought I got punched in the face by a girl in front of all my homies, or something. A 60-year-old, New Mexican woman, apparently, shares the same passion for Monopoly as I once had, and then some!

According to KASA:

A Santa Fe woman has been arrested on suspicion of repeatedly stabbing her boyfriend over a game of Monopoly.

According to a probable cause statement from Santa Fe police, Chavez and the victim began fighting because Chavez thought he was cheating.

Uh huh….he was whoopin’ that ass and almost had her in the poor house, so he had to be cheating! Nothing more to do but try and kill his ass, right?

Turning Your Wheels: 8 Steps Towards Becoming The Leader You Need To Be To Succeed!

Turning Your Wheels: 8 Steps Towards Becoming The Leader You Need To Be To Succeed!

Turning Your Wheels: 8 Steps Towards Becoming The Leader You Need To Be To Succeed!

An important part of success in life is the ability to lead. It is important that we not only be able to lead others but be willing to lead ourselves. No one succeeds in life by simply following others. Sometimes we simply must strike a bold new path for ourselves.

Being a good leader is more thansimply being at the forefront of the crowd. A leader must act, and act skillfully. Too often in America, we simply accept that someone looks or sounds like a leader and too rarely do we actually look at the actions that leader performs — and that is the true test of leadership.

However, in order to become good leaders ourselves, we need to concentrate on solid and wise actions rather than simple appearances. The title of this article refers to eight steps, but do not think of these as progressive steps like so many recipes or instruction manuals describe. Instead, think of these as actions that you must take on a regular basis.

First, be alert to new potentials. “Reality” is not absolute but rather subject to constant change. Think about inventors, explorers, and agents of social change who have achieved greatness. Some might simply say that certain people are successful because they are lucky to be in the right place at the right time. Maybe so, but if they hadn’t had their eyes open for the opportunity, then it wouldn’t have mattered if they were in the right place.

Second, accept inspiration from wherever it comes; even your opponents. The wisest leaders constantly study their peers and their competition. In war, politics, and business we constantly see examples of this research and reconnaissance. Too many times though people concentrate on finding a weakness to exploit. If you want to be a leader of positive change don’t fall victim to this trend. Instead, if you find a weakness, make sure to avoid that pitfall yourself. If you find the strength then find a way to strengthen your own qualities to match.

Third, learn something new and promote in new ways every day. This means you must continually seek to expand your horizons, internally and externally. Feed your mind with new lessons and knowledge, but constantly expand your social horizons as well. Seek out and meet new people and immerse yourself in new social situations. You never know when these new experiences will help you in your leadership role.

Fourth, search for and find answers in subtle clues. Look beneath the surface and constantly question. This is an extension of the third step in that you are seeking new knowledge. But this also means that you will need to step off the traditional paths of knowledge. Don’t simply read books in the literary canon or the bestsellers list. Take seminars rather than classes as there is more room for questioning and debate. Seek out the unconventional thinkers, teachers, and writers. Stay thirsty for expanding your horizon.

Fifth, improvise if no existing solutions are available. No excuses. Necessity is the mother of invention. How do you know it won’t work if you’ve never tried it before? Remember, not all approaches need to come from the front. Look at your problem from all sides and systematically attempt different solutions in various combinations.

Six, make at least one person you care about happy every day. If you make it a point to be thoughtful and caring for one person every day then soon this thoughtful, caring behavior will become a habit and that habit will spread to the others around you. Making someone else happy also feeds your own personal happiness. Just imagine how much better the world would be if we all did a little bit more to spread happiness.

Seven, offer help, even if there’s no apparent advantage to you. This means more than writing a check. It means giving of your time and energy and yourself. Sometimes it will mean helping someone you don’t know and sometimes it can be a very personal action.

Finally, never let negativity be your last word on the subject. If your final words are negative than no matter how hopeful you may be about the potential of a project or action the lasting impression you give to others is one of negativity. Accentuate the positive and you are more likely to see a positive outcome.

If you follow these eight action steps not only you will be a better leader but also lead yourself to a more successful life. Start turning your wheels…

Jaws Lives: U.S. Diver Killed By Great White In Australia

Saturday, October 22nd, 2011

great white shark attacks us diverSup,

I loved Jaws growing up, although it made swimming a little less fun. Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw were magnificent as Chief Brody, Biologist, Matt Hooper, and Badass Shark Hunter, Sam Quint, respectively. The movie seemed so real, but my mom assured me it was fiction, which I paid no attention to ‘cuz I knew great whites existed, and it could happen. Then, I road the Jaws ride at Universal Studios, and it all made sense – Jaws is fake. All was right in the universe.

And then I read this:

Authorities issued a catch-to-kill order to destroy a rogue shark after an American diver was killed Saturday off the coast of Western Australia.

The 32-year-old man, who was six months into a working visa in the country, was struck by the predator around 1:30 p.m. local time while diving alone on the northwest of Rottnest Island, PerthNow reported.

Two of his friends aboard a private boat watched in horror as a “flurry of bubbles” developed in the water before the body surfaced with “obvious traumatic fatal injuries,” Western Australia Police Sgt. Gerry Cassidy said.

Distraught, they made a desperate emergency services call after retrieving the man’s body from the water and witnessing a shark, which they described as a 9.8-foot great white.

The death was the third shark killing in seven weeks, and the fourth in 14 months, prompting Fisheries Minister Norman Moore to issue the first order in the state’s history for his officers to trap and kill the beast in a bid to protect public safety.

“It’s a cloudy old day today which is the same as we had the other day with Cottesloe, and they’re the conditions that sharks love,” Cassidy said.

The “third attack in seven weeks”, and now there’s a “catch-to-kill order” issued? Since when do we need a three strikes and your out rule for shark attacks? Hey, I’m not trying to sound racist, but, you know how they say “black folks can’t swim”? It’s more like “black folks don’t swim…….in shark-infested waters when conditions are perfect for a GWFF(Great White Feeding Frenzy)”. Give me a f*cking break. The joy of diving can’t be that serious! At least wait ’til it’s sunny and bright before doing something stupid like diving in shark-infested waters! Pretty sure it’s safe to say none of the 3 victims were a brotha or a sista!

Tennessee Bear Raids Candy Store

Friday, October 21st, 2011

tennessee bear raids candy storeSup,

A Tennessee bear has been satisfying his cravings for all things sweet at a local candy store in a quaint little mountain resort.

ModBee reports:

A bear has feasted on pecan logs, caramel apples and other treats at a candy store in the Smoky Mountains resort town Gatlinburg, Tenn.

Employees reporting for work found the bear Wednesday morning at the Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen, where the animal apparently had knocked a hole in a glass front door to enter

I don’t think the ranger would approve of your actions, Yogi!

Sup,

Kristin Chenoweth is scheduled to appear on Dancing With The Stars next week, and if it weren’t for her being from Oklahoma, I wouldn’t even be bothered with this bit of news, and the fact she’s quite a bit M.I.L.F.-esque.
